1How to chose your surgeons?
Our selection is based on the surgeon’s competence, ethics, professionalism and experience. All our surgeons are highly experienced and are enrolled in the national council of physicians. Although we are close collaborative partners with our surgeons, we never act on their behalf.
2Does breast surgery increase the risk of breast cancer?
No, breast surgery never increases the risk of breast cancer. It is, nonetheless, essential to undertake imaging tests of the breasts (mammography, echography, etc.) prior to any cosmetic surgery. These tests will serve as a reference in case of for future check-ups.
3Will I be able to breastfeed after breast surgery?
Yes, the surgeon leaves mammary ducts unimpaired. Breastfeeding is thus possible.
4Can I use another person’s fat for my lipofilling?
No, this will result in an immune reaction. When you receive a transplant with another person’s fat, your immune system will recognize the new organ as foreign and will try to reject it.
5Who will remove my stitches?
Stitches are generally made up of absorbable suture material. However, if the removal of stiches is needed, a nurse will take care of it.
6How long would it take to recover?
Convalescence period depends on the intervention. We reassure you that your surgeon will be communicating all the intricate details pertaining to your surgery.
7Should I fast prior to the surgery?
Yes, you should not drink or eat for a minimum of 8 hours prior to the surgery.
8Should I fast prior to blood tests?
Yes, you should not drink or eat for a minimum of 12 hours prior to blood tests.
9Should I stop smoking prior to the surgery?
Yes, and it is a must not to resume smoking 15 days after the surgery. Tabaco does not stimulate blood circulation and can increase the risk of inflammation, infections and necrosis.
10Should I stop smoking after procedure?
To have the best results and a good healing, it is recommanded not to smoke after procedure. Tobaco limits blood circulation and can increase the inflammation, infection and necrosis risks
11Should I do lymphatic drainage sessions after my surgery?
Yes, it is recommended to start lymphatic drainage sessions one week after the surgery. Generally speaking, 3 sessions per week for a period of 3 to 4 weeks are enough.
12Should I retake my breast imaging tests (mammography and breast echography) if they are older than 6 months?
Yes, imaging tests should be recent and dating for less than 6 months.
13Do fat cells reappear after a liposuction?
No, fat cells that were removed through liposuction do not reappear even in case of weight gain.
14Are there any recommendations to follow prior to surgery?
We recommend that you stop smoking and consuming certain medications; a list will be communicated to you by your surgeon. You should also undertake certain medical examinations (blood tests, mammography, etc.). Another must is fasting an evening prior to the surgery. It is also not recommended to wear jewellery the day of the surgery.
15Should I cover up my scar from sunlight?
Yes, it is strongly recommended not to expose the scar to sunlight during the first 6 months to avoid hyperpigmentation. Thus, you should apply sunscreen all over your scar at every hour of the day. If the scar is relatively close to the eyes, it is encouraged to wear good-quality sunglasses with UV protection.
